Cricket betting Guide

Cricket dominates the English Summer and as such there are plenty of great opportunities to place a bet on the cricket. There are plenty of chances to place a bet on the cricket, as there are four domestic competitions in England. They all have a very different format of play, so this means there are lots of different ways to bet on cricket in England.
The main competition is the County Championship where there are two, nine team leagues and they play each other home and away over four days. Yorkshire has the most County Championships titles, winning the competition 30 times, while Surrey are also historically successful, so those two teams may be worth placing a bet on to win it outright. The second competition is the Pro40, which is played in a similar format to the County Championships, but the teams only play 40 overs in one day. You could bet on these two competitions on who is going to win and who will be relegated.
There are also a couple of knockout competitions that you can place a cricket bet on. The first is the Friends Provident Trophy, where 20 teams from all over the United Kingdom play a limited overs game over one day. Teams are drawn into groups and then the top two got onto the knock out stages. Lancashire are the most successful county in the competition with seven wins. And there is also the Twenty20 cup where teams have 20 overs to slog the ball around, it is more fast paced than regular cricket and as a result the game is therefore more exciting. This structure of the tournament is similar to the Friends Provident Trophy. The limited overs in Twenty20 mean that the game is much more unpredictable so betting on this type of cricket is also unpredictable.
You can also place a bet on who will score most runs or take most wickets in any of the four domestic cricket competitions. You are likely to get some great odds on a variety of players all playing for different teams. But when placing a bet like this do not pick top international players as they will not be playing for their county for the majority of the summer. Although they are the best players there is no way they will take the most wickets or score the most runs as they will play so few games for their respective counties. Look for top players who have retired from the international stage or players who are on the cusp of being called up to their national team.
