Betting on the greyhounds is great fun and offers many opportunities for you to place a bet and win some serious cash. There are thousands of races that tale place in the UK throughout the year over a number of different venues. Greyhound racing is simple, six dogs race after a mechanical hare around an oval track, and the first one to cross the lie wins.
Greyhound racing attracts a lot of interest and as such a lot of money is bet on greyhound racing. Bets are usually taken at bookmakers or at the track where the race is taking place. Betting usually focuses around which dog is going to win the race. The dogs are placed in traps and during the course of the race each dogged is referred to in which trap they started. The dogs also wear a nice coat that has a number on so they are easily recognised during the race.
It can be quite unpredictable greyhound racing as any of the field has a reasonable chance to go on and win the race. Dogs often fall or go wide at the curve so it means that races can be won by the underdog. You can place a single bet on who you expect to win the race, however the odds are not astronomical and as such you would not be in for a massive win.
To start to get decent odds on your greyhound bet think about betting double or even trebles on the outcome of a greyhound race. Doubles would mean when you bet on which trap would come first and second and trebles is when you bet on who would come first, second and then third. To win they have to come in that exact order, if they do not come in that order, your bet does not win. So if you bet doubles on trap 1 to come in first with trap 5 to come in second, trap 1 has to finish first and trap 5 has to come in second, if they do not come in like that, you do not win. However if your selections do come in – as the odds will be fairly big – you will make some serious money on your greyhound bet.
