Tennis Betting Guide

There are numerous tennis tournaments and tennis championships that are played throughout the year. However there are only four big ones commonly known as the ‘Grand Slams’, these four are the most prestigious tournaments in the world and as the ones all the players want to win. So this is where the majority of betting on tennis takes place and as such the tennis bookies are busiest during the two weeks each tournament usually lasts.
The Australian Open is first in January, then comes the French in May/June, Wimbledon is next in June/July and then the US Open round off the year in August/September. However there are very rarely any major upsets in these tennis tournaments as the players are seeded before the tournament begins. This means that the best players are kept apart from each other until the last few rounds of the tournament. If all goes according to plan, the number one seed and the number two seed should meet in the final. So this means the top players in the world generally make it to the final and the top players are the ones who go onto win the Grand Slams.
Because of the seeding you are not going to get great odds on picking an outright winner with a reasonable shot of winning the title, you would be lucky to double your money in most cases. So you have to use your imagination a bit when betting on tennis. Place a bet on things such as how many games or sets a player drops of their way to the final, the number of double faults a player may make or the number of aces they may serve. When you start to put a couple of these into a single accumulated bet, you will then start to get some attractive odds on your tennis bet and be in with a shot of winning some big money.
